Kimono dress, dark purple and stripes is a loose dress with very large edges and neckline. Kimono inspire the structure of the dress with a patchwork of 3 different fabrics. A light dress is elegant for this summer.
First of all the main fabric is a fine cotton with stripes in pastel and natural tones and come with a musselin, double gauze texture.
Then we have in the back a square patch of polyester crepe lamé with a liberty pattern in black.
And finally, bands of bamboo fabric printed black and purple highlight the structure of the dress.
Bamboo fabrics are environmentally friendly during production, you’ll need less water and energy for washing. Also, bamboo fabrics are biodegradable.
The fabric is printed digital with GOTS inks. Digital printing is the most environmental friendly way of printing at the moment.
On the other hand our production is local in our workshop in Berlin and our prints are also developed by us.
We also work with a supplier of unprinted fabric based on their existing stock.
The inspiration of cut is the kimono.
But it is of course a very free interpretation of this traditional Japanese garment, if we refer to its rich and complex history.
Because my imagination is crossed with memories of shapes, colors and impressions. The cutting work comes from this unconscious and poetic memory.
We love this cut for its casual wear and bohemian chic feel.
