PRIDE IN BLOOM: Berlin’s Independent Fashion, Flowers and Creativity Celebrate the Start of CSD Weekend

Thursday, 23 July 2026 | 6:00 PM–10:00 PM

Berlin’s independent creative scene comes together this July for PRIDE IN BLOOM, a unique evening celebrating fashion, flowers, performance and community. Taking place across two neighboring venues in Friedrichshain, the event marks the beginning of the CSD Berlin weekend and highlights the collaborative spirit that defines Berlin’s contemporary cultural landscape.

Hosted by RARE Store in collaboration with Ponyclub and hand werk floraldesign, PRIDE IN BLOOM transforms Kopernikusstraße into a living stage where fashion, floral art and live performance interact directly with the city.

More than a shopping event or exhibition, PRIDE IN BLOOM is an invitation to experience independent design in motion, bringing together designers, artists, florists, musicians and visitors in an atmosphere that celebrates diversity, creativity and self-expression.

PRIDE IN BLOOM

A Celebration of Independent Berlin Creativity

Berlin has long been known for its experimental fashion scene, independent designers and openness to artistic collaboration. PRIDE IN BLOOM embodies these values by creating connections between different creative disciplines.

Throughout the evening, visitors will move freely between RARE Store, Ponyclub and hand werk floraldesign, all located just a few steps from one another on Kopernikusstraße in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

Each location contributes its own artistic language while remaining connected through a shared vision of inclusivity, craftsmanship and creative freedom.

Fashion Takes Over the Street

One of the highlights of PRIDE IN BLOOM will be the Alternative Street Fashion Catwalk, presented by the designers of the RARE Collective.

Instead of remaining inside a traditional venue, the fashion show extends into the public space. Models will walk between Ponyclub and RARE Store, crossing Kopernikusstraße as part of the live performance.

With Ponyclub and hand werk floraldesign located on one side of the street and RARE Store directly opposite, the street itself becomes part of the scenography.

Fashion interacts with everyday urban life, passers-by become spectators and the city becomes a temporary runway. This unconventional approach reflects Berlin’s creative energy and the RARE Collective’s commitment to presenting fashion beyond traditional formats.

Fashion Meets Floral Design

PRIDE IN BLOOM also celebrates the dialogue between textiles and nature through the work of hand werk floraldesign.

Visitors will discover floral installations created especially for the event, adding colour, texture and organic movement throughout the two venues.

Rather than serving as decoration alone, these floral compositions become part of the artistic narrative, interacting with the fashion collections and creating unexpected visual conversations between garments, flowers and architecture.

Live Performances Throughout the Evening

The evening brings together several artistic disciplines, expanding the experience beyond fashion.

  • Live hairstyling performance by Ponyclub
  • Floral installations and artistic floral design by hand werk floraldesign
  • Alternative Street Fashion Catwalk featuring the designers of the RARE Collective
  • Live music by Mattam at RARE Store
  • DJ set by DJ Fahran at Ponyclub
  • A curated selection of RARE Collective designs available at both venues

The combination of live performance, music, floral art and independent fashion creates an atmosphere that is both festive and intimate, reflecting Berlin’s vibrant creative culture.

Visit the Exhibition Fluid States

While attending PRIDE IN BLOOM, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover Fluid States, the current exhibition by artist Johanna Keimeyer at RARE Store.

The exhibition remains open and available to visit throughout the evening, creating an additional dialogue between contemporary art, fashion, movement and transformation.

Together, the exhibition and live performances reinforce the idea that contemporary fashion is deeply connected to artistic expression and collective experience.

The RARE Collective Has a New Berlin Location

Alongside the Pride event, the RARE Collective is excited to announce an important new chapter.

The collective is now also part of Studio5 Berlin, located inside The Playce at Potsdamer Platz.

Collaboration and joining forces are essential for the future of independent fashion. By becoming part of Studio5 Berlin, the collective is expanding its presence and creating another opportunity for visitors to discover independent Berlin design.

From now on, visitors can find the following RARE Collective members at Studio5 Berlin:

  • Tata Christiane
  • Therapy Recycle & Exorcise
  • Fade Out Label
  • Everyday Pieces

The new location at The Playce strengthens the collective’s shared vision of supporting independent designers through creative partnerships, visibility and curated retail experiences.

Tata Christiane at PRIDE IN BLOOM

Among the participating designers is Tata Christiane, the Berlin-based label founded in 2007 by French designer Julie Bourgeois.

Known for transforming deadstock textiles, vintage materials and handcrafted techniques into expressive contemporary garments, Tata Christiane continues to explore fashion as an emotional and sustainable practice.

The label combines deconstructed silhouettes, street costume, artisanal craftsmanship and joyful individuality. Its approach to slow fashion places care, transformation and emotional connection at the centre of the design process.

For Tata Christiane, collaborative events such as PRIDE IN BLOOM offer an opportunity to connect fashion with art, music and community while celebrating diversity and creative freedom.

Why Collaboration Matters

The expansion to Studio5 Berlin and events such as PRIDE IN BLOOM share the same vision.

Independent designers often become stronger by building networks rather than working in isolation. By bringing together fashion designers, florists, hairstylists, musicians, performers and artists, PRIDE IN BLOOM demonstrates how collaboration can create richer cultural experiences while supporting local creative communities.

This spirit of openness, exchange and mutual support has become one of the defining characteristics of Berlin’s independent fashion scene.
