July 2: FLUID STATES at RARE

Berlin Fashion Week begins with an encounter between fashion, photography and immersive art.

RARE Store & Collective presents FLUID STATES, a solo exhibition by Berlin based experiential artist Johanna Keimeyer. Known for her multidisciplinary approach spanning photography, film and immersive artistic practices, Keimeyer explores themes of transformation, identity and human connection.

The exhibition brings together selected works from different stages of her career, including projects such as Leave Your Body Like a Shell, Pool Around Me and Iconic Portraits. Through photography, moving image and immersive atmospheres, visitors are invited to reflect on the invisible forces that shape who we are.

The opening reception will be accompanied by a subtle ambient soundscape inspired by water, creating an environment for conversation, reflection and discovery.

Guests can also enjoy discounted prices from the brands of the RARE collective, drinks including white wine, prosecco and fruit infused vitamin water, ambient music and the unveiling of a newly transformed store environment.

The exhibition continues throughout July, offering Berlin Fashion Week visitors and local audiences an opportunity to experience contemporary art within one of Berlin’s most dynamic independent fashion spaces.

July 3: Tata Christiane at DER BERLINER SALON

The following day, Tata Christiane joins one of the most important showcases of contemporary German fashion.

DER BERLINER SALON has become a cornerstone of Berlin Fashion Week, presenting a carefully curated selection of designers whose work reflects the diversity, creativity and innovation of the German fashion scene.

Hosted this season at the historic Orangerie Charlottenburg, the exhibition provides a unique platform for established and emerging designers to present their latest collections to buyers, journalists, industry professionals and international guests.

Tata Christiane is proud to be part of this season’s selection. Founded in Berlin in 2007 by Julie Bourgeois, the label is known for transforming upcycled materials, vintage textiles and deadstock fabrics into emotional clothing that challenges conventional fashion systems.

Through deconstructed silhouettes, reconstructed garments and a commitment to slow fashion values, Tata Christiane proposes a more personal and expressive relationship with clothing. Participation in DER BERLINER SALON offers an opportunity to share this vision within a wider conversation about the future of contemporary fashion.

The event is supported by the Berlin Senate for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, Fashion Council Germany and numerous partners committed to strengthening Germany’s creative industries.

July 4: Fashion Fusion at Bikini Berlin

Sustainability takes center stage during Fashion Fusion, a collective fashion presentation hosted at Bikini Berlin.

The event brings together brands from Reuse Superstore Bikini Berlin, one of Berlin’s most ambitious projects dedicated to circular fashion, upcycling and responsible consumption.

Participating brands include PACOV × KAIGERHARDT, FADE OUT Label, Tata Christiane, tHERAPY Recycle and Exorcise and Ministry of Upcycling. Together, they present collections that demonstrate how creativity can emerge from transformation, reuse and alternative approaches to production.

Rather than presenting sustainability as a trend, these designers integrate circular thinking directly into their creative process. Through reconstruction, material experimentation and local production, they offer alternatives to the fast fashion model.

Tata Christiane presents Emotional Clothing, An Antidote to Fast Fashion, a collection statement that reflects the label’s ongoing exploration of clothing as a carrier of memory, emotion and personal expression.

The Fashion Fusion show highlights how Berlin continues to position itself as a laboratory for new fashion practices, where environmental awareness and creative experimentation go hand in hand.

July 5: Fashion Open Air Berlin

The final event of the week moves fashion into the public realm.

Fashion Open Air Berlin transforms Alexanderplatz into a large scale open air destination dedicated to fashion, lifestyle and entertainment.

Against the iconic backdrop of the Berlin Television Tower, visitors can discover contemporary collections, creative performances and emerging designers from Germany and beyond.

The event reflects Berlin’s unique approach to fashion: accessible, democratic and deeply connected to the city’s cultural life. By bringing fashion directly into public space, Fashion Open Air creates encounters between designers and audiences that extend beyond traditional showrooms and industry events.

For independent brands, this visibility is essential. It allows fashion to become part of everyday urban life while introducing new audiences to innovative approaches to design, sustainability and craftsmanship.

Why Berlin Fashion Week Matters for Independent Fashion

Berlin Fashion Week has developed a distinctive identity within the international fashion calendar.

Rather than focusing exclusively on luxury and commercial spectacle, Berlin increasingly highlights sustainability, innovation, cultural diversity and emerging creative voices. Events such as DER BERLINER SALON, Fashion Fusion and independent initiatives like RARE demonstrate how fashion can become a platform for dialogue between art, society and environmental responsibility.

For labels such as Tata Christiane, these events provide opportunities not only to present collections but also to engage in broader conversations about the future of fashion.

From immersive exhibitions and historic venues to sustainable runway presentations and open air experiences, Berlin Fashion Week 2026 celebrates a fashion culture that values experimentation, craftsmanship and individuality.

We look forward to seeing you in Berlin.
